Freestyle is fine, but it DOES have limitations. It has to have a beat. I view poetry as a song so good that it doesn't need music. This...well, it's nice and all, really it is, but I don't consider it true poetry. It's rationed prose. Word choice is a bit simplistic, too, but it's quite nice...only part I can say I realy didn't like is that 'books and movies' thing. Really now. I find it faintly ridiculous to put something about books and movies in a contempletive poem like this

I find a good excercise is writing in iambic pentameter a couple times. I've had to do a few of those for various English classes, and it really helps with getting poetic beat right.

Overall, not one of your best, but one thing can be said here: I can definitely relate to what you're getting at here.

Right. Sorry for the harsh critique. I'm usually lenient with prose and art, but with poems...xD can't control the nitpicky OCD.

Mmm; yeah. The books/movies thing is out of place, I agree, but it does have a place in how I view things. I get daydream blues after reading a good book or watching a good movie. *shrug*

I need to do something good like that...heh.

well...so does everybody. or at least, 'me and everybody who I talk to semi regularly'. But anyway, it's just aesthetically cringeworthy.

I have a few poems written in iambic pentameter...in my opinion they're utterly terrible...but at least the beat is okay.

Emo moments are okay ^_^ I've had plenty. Most of them are hidden away from the outside world where none my find my inner patheticness...
